ABRAINI

Logo, packaging and collateral (this is a hypothetical student project).

Su Filindeu is the worlds rarest pasta, priced at $150per kilo. Made exclusively by five women in Sardinia, Italy, it is a secret passed down over generations from mother to daughter. This unique pasta can’t be bought anywhere else in the world and can only be created by hand. An art at risk of extinction.

Abrainis brand identity is an amalgamation of Sardinias rich past. It draws upon Sardinias historical worshiping of a “Mother Goddess” and the geometric curvy stone sculptures they carved of her. Whilst also referencing the long needle thin strands of pasta they have been crafting for hundreds of years. This has been achieved through careful illustration work, where an intentional continuous uneven line was forged to symbolise these two things simultaneously.

The Abraini su filindeu pasta packaging aims to portray the historic, dynamic landscape of Sardinia through the use of considered materials. The beige textured paper utilised for the majority of the box represents the beachy rugged coastline that is Sardinia. The navy paper is reflective of the dreamy coastline surrounding the island as well as subtly referencing the back squid ink pasta held within, of which is a deep blue/black colour. The choice to employ fold foiling for the logo and create layers to the packaging was to establish the brand as a luxury food item reflective of its price point.
